Position Summary
We are seeking a CNC Set-Up Machinist to support precision manufacturing operations by performing full machine setups and running production on CNC mills and lathes. This role focuses on maintaining part quality, process consistency, and production efficiency while working with Mastercam-generated programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with tooling, fixturing, offsets, and first-article verification in a tight-tolerance environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform full CNC machine setups on mills and lathes including tooling, fixturing, and offset adjustments
• Load, prove out, and run CNC programs developed in Mastercam (may look at someone with no CNC programming experience)
• Conduct first-article inspections and adjust processes to meet specifications
• Monitor production runs and adjust tooling or offsets as needed
• Make minor program edits at the machine when required
• Collaborate with engineers and programmers to improve cycle time and efficiency
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T requirements
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, materials, and machine performance
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and efficiency

Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience as a CNC Set-Up Machinist (mills and/or lathes)
• Working knowledge of Mastercam and CAM-generated programs (this is a big plus- not a must have)
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
• Experience working in precision, tight-tolerance manufacturing environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with multi-axis machining (3, 4- or 5-axis)
• Ability to perform basic G-code edits at the machine
• Experience in aerospace, medical, automotive, or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing
• Familiarity with process documentation and setup optimization

Additional Details
• Schedule options:
• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Overtime: Rare, primarily during the week
