  • This role requires hands-on experience with tooling, fixturing, offsets, and first-article verification, as well as the ability to support and run programs created in Mastercam.
  • The Machinist plays a key role in maintaining part quality, process stability, and on time production in a precision manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
CNC Machine Setup & Operation
  • Perform full machine setups on (Brother, OKK, and YCM), employing MDI (Manual Data Input) CNC mills and lathes, including tooling installation, work holding, fixturing, and offset adjustments.
  • Load, prove out, and run CNC programs generated in Mastercam.
  • Conduct first-article inspections and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Support production runs by monitoring tool wear and making offset or process adjustments as needed.
Mastercam & Process Support

  • Collaborate with programmers and engineers to improve setup efficiency, cycle time, and repeatability.
  • Follow setup sheets, tooling lists, and work instructions to establish consistent processes.
Quality & Inspection
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
  • Inspect first-piece and in-process parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and proactively resolve quality issues.
Continuous Improvement & Safety
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, fixturing, materials, or machine performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, cycle time improvement, and process standardization.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience as a CNC Set-Up Machinist on mills and/or lathes
  • Hands-on experience with Haas and/or DMG Mori CNC machines
  • Working knowledge of Mastercam and ability to run CAM-generated programs
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Experience working in a precision, tight-tolerance machining environment
Preferred:
  • Experience with multi-axis machining (4 or 5 axis)
  • Ability to perform basic CNC program edits at the machine (G-code)
  • Background in aerospace, medical, automotive, or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing
  • Familiarity with process documentation and setup optimization
