Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist

Job Description

Join our dynamic team in a rotating equipment repair shop, specializing in the refurbishment of pumps, compressors, and turbines. We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist to operate and edit both vertical and horizontal CNC Milling machines using Fanuc controllers. This role involves machining medium to large-sized parts to tight tolerances across various metals.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints to set up and edit CNC Milling machines.

  • Perform CNC machining on medium to large-sized parts with tight tolerances.

  • Handle both vertical and horizontal milling operations.

  • Potentially engage in manual machining and CNC programming based on aptitude.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in CNC milling.

  • Proficiency in a job shop setting and blueprint reading.

  • Expertise in setups and edits of Fanuc controllers.

  • Experience with vertical and horizontal milling of medium to large parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in machining on rotating equipment parts such as pumps, turbines, and compressors.

  • Familiarity with exotic metals.

  • CNC programming skills.

  • Manual machining capabilities.

  • Experience with Horizontal Boring Mill and line boring.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of three machine shops located within close proximity, all clean and organized, though not climate controlled. The nature of work involves moving large parts around, requiring bay doors to stay open at times. The team includes CNC machinists, manual machinists, mechanics, and inspectors, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. Safety attire includes steel toes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The base schedule is the first shift from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential extended hours or night shifts during peak project times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77034.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
