Job Summary
The CNC Machinist II - 2nd Shift operates under minimal supervision, operating CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts.
Shift Hours: 2:30pm - 1:00am - Mon. - Thurs.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Reads and interprets blueprints.
- Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials.
- Proficient in the use of measuring instruments.
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance. Must be self-sufficient.
- Must be familiar with MAZAK, HAAS, Fanuc, and Mori Controls.
- Understands and can function using M and G codes.
- Must demonstrate a basic understanding of cutting tools.
- Properly chooses/uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
- Understands and can perform basic tool wear offsets.
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
- Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment.
- Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
- Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
- Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management.
- Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input.
- Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant.
- Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
- 1 year of experience in CNC machining
- Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach during the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
- Frequently required to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated in the specific work area assigned.
- This position requires working night shifts.
- The work environment includes exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.

Compensation: Pay: $29 - 33 Hourly (final rate is determined based on experience).
