Position Overview
Bear Staffing is seeking a CNC Machinist II for an advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment in Middleton, Wisconsin. This position supports the production of high-precision components used in next-generation aerospace technology and mission-critical systems.
The CNC Machinist II will be responsible for operating and programming CNC and manual machining equipment while maintaining strict quality, precision, and safety standards within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have prior CNC machining experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production setting focused on innovation and precision manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Operate and program CNC machining equipment
- Perform machine setup and basic maintenance activities
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Use precision measuring tools including micrometers and calipers
- Deburr, clean, and inspect machined parts
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Follow PPE, shop safety, 5S, FOD, and ESD procedures
- Support continuous improvement and production goals
- Assist with training junior machinists as needed
Requirements
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
- Experience with CNC programming, G-code, and M-code preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machines
- Manual mill and lathe experience
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Machinist certification is a plus
