Description:Role Overview

This role supports aerospace manufacturing operations by machining, fabricating, and inspecting precision parts using CNC equipment. You will work from engineering drawings and CAD data to produce components that meet strict quality and performance standards in a high-reliability production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine, fabricate, or assemble parts based on engineering drawings and operation sheets
  • Set up and operate CNC machining centers (horizontal and vertical) to perform drilling, milling, boring, tapping, and related operations
  • Interpret CAD data, blueprints, sketches, and written instructions to ensure accurate production
  • Verify NC (G-code) during setup and execution
  • Select, install, and adjust cutting tools and machine offsets for proper setup
  • Inspect parts during and after machining using precision measurement tools to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Perform secondary operations such as deburring and straightening during machine cycles
  • Maintain coolant levels and support basic preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Provide feedback to manufacturing engineers on tooling, processes, and fixturing improvements
  • Track machining performance against production targets and communicate shift progress and job status

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing production setting supporting aerospace components
  • Second shift schedule (2:30 PM - 12:00 AM) on a 9x80 rotation (every other Friday off)
  • Team-based environment with collaboration between machinists, manufacturing engineers, and quality teams
  • Work may include overtime, weekends, or schedule adjustments based on production needs

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered, candidates must meet all requirements listed:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD data, and operation sheets
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC machining centers (horizontal and/or vertical)
  • Understanding of G&M code
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, and similar instruments) to verify part quality
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Ability to work second shift (2:30 PM - 12:00 AM) and a rotating 9x80 schedule, including occasional overtime or weekend support

Desired Skills:

Nice-to-have skills that strengthen candidacy but are not required:

  • Experience with Siemens 840D (Celos) control systems
  • Experience with Mazatrol CNC systems
  • Familiarity with Mastercam or Siemens NX programming tools

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
