Summary:
- Training on 1st Shift
- Schedule: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM - Monday to Friday
- Location: Irvine, CA
Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of machine tools such as engine lathes, mills, CNC machines, CNC lathes, drill presses, and deburr equipment.
- Perform operations such as drilling, tapping, reaming, and boring while ensuring dimensional accuracy is maintained.
- Create setups and operate CNC machines to a specific program per part number and work instruction sheet via utilization of DNC (direct numerical control) link on computer.
- Work from drawings and specifications using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and have an understanding of geometric tolerance.
- Work under general supervision with progress and final inspections.
- Inspect completed work and complete all appropriate inspection paperwork.
- Rotate to various types of machines to be competent in their operation.
- Perform Lean Initiatives, including Continuous Improvement.
- Comply with all safety requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of equipment.
- Keep assigned work area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum five (5) years of previous work experience as a Machinist.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must have lathe experience (2-3 axis), with Mazak experience preferred.
- Knowledge and use of shop mathematics.
- Knowledge of geometric symbols.
- Able to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Experience using a variety of measuring tools/instruments.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous work experience in the aerospace industry.
- Milling 4-axis experience.
- Mazak machining experience.
