Johnson Service Group is looking for a CNC Machinist III Weekends with 5-10 years’ experience working in an Aerospace environment. Employees must be available to work on a weekend schedule consisting of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  This is Temp- Direct job in Valencia, CA for an Aircraft company.

Pay Rate: $40.00 HR plus shift differential/DOE


 
Responsibilities:
  • Be able to operate all types of CNC machines and run a minimum of 20-25 different CNC machines. 
  • Be able to set up all CNC machines on either the mill or mill turn machines. 
  • Should be able to run cells with gear machines and other manual equipment. 
  • Modify speeds and feeds with approval from the supervisor or ME. 
  • Edit programs if required with approval from the supervisor or ME. 
  • Must be able to handle machining of complex parts. 
  • Must be able to operate two or more machines at one time. 
  • Be able to make tooling offsets for wear and geometry. 
  • Working from blueprints, plans methods and sequences of machining to produce good parts complete as needed to conform to specifications. 
  • Inspect parts per drawing requirements and log data as required. 
  • Check and fill as necessary all CNC machines to ensure coolant tanks are full and at correct viscosity levels using a refractometer 
  • Identify stock and raw materials. 
  • Actively participates in safety and continuous improvement and processes needed to ensure production is maintained. 
  • Will be required to train Level I and II operators on running and offsets CNC machines, gear cutters and other manual machines. 
  • Expected to contribute ideas for continuous improvement for setups and processes. 
  • Must be familiar with and maintain ITT Quick change setup software. 
  • Must be proficient with quick change tooling. 
  • Must keep their work area clean, wipe down each day and maintain all setup tooling in the right holders. 
  • Ability to train others. 
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned. 
 
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English, perform simple shop math calculations, and follow verbal and written instructions accurately. 
  • Must have general computer experience. 
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing good customer services. This includes meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. 
  • Mathematics- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications. Must be able to comprehend the meaning of the calculation. (pass Level III test). 
  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and general maintenance.
  • Production and Processes - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods. 
  • Must be able to set up and operate a variety of CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and mill turns. 
  • Operation Monitoring - Watching machine gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a 
  • machine is working and aligned properly. 
  • Critical Thinking- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. 
  • Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems. 
  • Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. 
  • Coordination- Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. 
  • Must be capable of working within tolerances of .0002" in a high-pressure, fast-paced, quality- oriented environment. 
  • Knowledge of all machinist’s measuring equipment and their use. 
  • Ability to lift 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally 
  • Must have own basic tools such as calipers, micrometers etc. 
  • Minimum 10 years CNC machine shop experience as a machinist operating CNC machines. 
  • Lean experience in setups and mistake proofing preferred. 
  • High School diploma or GED or trade school certification.

  • This job typically requires the ability to work weekends, alternate shifts, and overtime.
