CNC Machinist

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and technical skills to ensure high-quality production in a fast-paced environment. Duties

• Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, primarily using Fanuc controls.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate machining.
• Utilize CAD and SolidWorks for designing and modifying parts as needed.
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions.
• Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations.
• Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly.
• Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist in assembly processes and operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and other manufacturing tools as required.

Skills

• Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes in a production or job‐shop environment (adjust as needed for your level).​
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, and work instructions.​
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, etc.).​
• Mechanical knowledge related to machining processes, tooling, and equipment maintenance.
• Experience with CNC lathe and CNC milling machines, especially Fanuc controls.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines accurately.
• Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
• Knowledge of manufacturing best practices including lean manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely when necessary.
