The Role --------
A CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to produce precise parts from materials like metal or plastic, interpreting blueprints, programming machines, selecting tools, monitoring production for quality, performing inspections first article in-process, and troubleshooting issues to meet tight specifications for industries like aerospace, automotive, and medical.
Key Duties ------------
Setup & Programming
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, sketches to set up machines
Create and modify programs (G-code)
Select tools and calculate feeds and speeds
Operation
Run CNC Mills, Lathes, or other machines to shape raw stock into finished components
Quality Control
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to ensure they meet exact tolerances and specifications
Perform first article inspections
Maintenance & Cleaning
Perform routine cleaning and light maintenance on CNC machines and tools
Documentation
Keep accurate logs of production quality checks and machine actions
Safety Compliance
Follow all company safety guidelines and protocols
