Position: CNC Machinist Location: Los Alamos, NM – On-Site
About the Job
We're seeking a dependable and skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on machining experience, a solid understanding of CNC machining practices, and the ability to produce quality parts while following engineering drawings, work instructions, and established manufacturing procedures.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machining equipment with limited supervision.
Manufacture parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and job requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
Select and install appropriate tooling and make routine machine adjustments as needed.
Verify tooling, offsets, and setup information before and during machining operations.
Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specified requirements.
Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
Monitor machining operations and identify issues related to tooling, dimensions, surface finish, or machine performance.
Make routine adjustments to maintain required dimensions and tolerances.
Accurately complete Manufacturing and Inspection Travelers and other required production and inspection documentation.
Report machining, drawing, tooling, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor or Quality Assurance personnel.
Follow established quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures.
Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Work cooperatively with senior machinists, supervisors, Quality Assurance, and other production personnel.
Qualifications
Previous experience working as a Machinist or CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Understanding of machining practices, tooling, and routine machine adjustments.
Ability to perform basic in-process inspection using precision measuring tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
