CNC Machinist Multi-spindle Multi-turret Lathe 2nd3rd Shift

Salary Range: 26 - 44 per hour 4 x 10 hour days OT after 10 hours in a day

Position Summary Position is focused primarily on the setup and operation of a multi-spindle multi-turret lathe. Applies inspection techniques to monitor the CNC process. Collaborates with colleagues to maximize productivity in the precision manufacturing of the highest quality valves & actuators for aerospace and power generation customers.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex blue prints, shop travelers and operation sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.
• Inspect parts to specifications and document results.
• Installing fixtures and setting work offsets.
• Using an offline tool pre-setter prepare and set tools needed for machining operations.
• Accurately and efficiently diagnose deviations and trends, adjust offsets to maintain quality product based on the analysis.
• Report machinery, tooling or quality issues to supervisor.
• Run multiple machine centers as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• This position requires either a US Person as defined in applicable export regulations or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
• Experience in set-up and operation of multi axis CNC machinery: 3 axis lathes minimum, 4-5 axis horizontal mills and pallet line experience a plus.
• High School Graduate or equivalent technical certification or degree a plus.
• Ability to work from complex drawings containing GD&T.
• Ability to perform accurate manual inspections of parts produced.
• Solid understanding of G-code. Ability to program machines a plus.
• Experience with low volume high mix production a plus.
