Position Summary
Position is focused primarily on the setup and operation of a multi-spindle multi-turret lathe. Applies inspection techniques to monitor the CNC process. Collaborates with colleagues to maximize productivity in the precision manufacturing of the highest quality valves & actuators for aerospace and power generation customers.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret complex blue prints, shop travelers and operation sketches for machined and/or fabricated parts.
- Inspect parts to specifications and document results.
- Installing fixtures and setting work offsets.
- Using an offline tool pre-setter prepare and set tools needed for machining operations.
- Accurately and efficiently diagnose deviations and trends, adjust offsets to maintain quality product based on the analysis.
- Report machinery, tooling or quality issues to supervisor.
- Run multiple machine centers as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- This position requires either a US Person as defined in applicable export regulations or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
- Experience in set-up and operation of multi axis CNC machinery: 3 axis lathes minimum, 4-5 axis horizontal mills and pallet line experience a plus.
- High School Graduate or equivalent technical certification or degree a plus.
- Ability to work from complex drawings containing GD&T.
- Ability to perform accurate manual inspections of parts produced.
- Solid understanding of G-code. Ability to program machines a plus.
- Experience with low volume high mix production a plus.
