Description
Build your future supporting precision manufacturing for mission-critical commercial marine equipment in New Albany. In this CNC Machinist opportunity 1st Shift and a mix of 2nd shift you’ll set up and run multi-axis machining work, support laser cutting production, and help deliver tight-tolerance parts with a team that values long-term craftsmanship.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this CNC Machinist position include:
- Minimum of 10–15 years of experience operating CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines, and machining centers within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with laser cutting equipment and/or working with laser-cut components in a precision manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Knowledge of laser cutting processes, including machine setup, material considerations, cut quality, tolerances, and inspection of laser-cut parts.
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, with an intermediate understanding of GD&T.
- Strong knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, bore gauges, indicators, and similar equipment.
- Strong knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on CNC equipment.
- Set up and operate multi-axis (3, 4, and 5-axis) milling centers and other CNC manufacturing equipment, including tool changes and resetting tool offsets.
- Perform in-process inspections, troubleshoot machining and laser cutting issues, and dismantle setups while returning tools to proper locations.
Salary: $24-$35 per hour
Benefits: 401(k) with 5% company match, company pays 75% of the employee's health insurance premium, paid holidays, end-of-year company shutdown, PTO begins accruing after 6 months (equivalent to 1 week initially), life insurance provided, annual $150 boot allowance, annual $250 safety glasses allowance, and employee appreciation events including cookouts and breakfast mornings.
