CNC Machinist

Job Overview
Our client in New Hudson, MI, is seeking a Skilled CNC Machinist with strong manual lathe and setup experience to join a small, team-oriented machining job shop. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, with the ability to go direct in as little as 30 days based on performance and progression.
This role is not an operator position — we are specifically looking for machinists who can independently set up machines, perform tool changes, and run jobs with minimal supervision.

Pay: $28.00 – $38.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Friday Half-Day (OT Available)
Location: On-site

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes
• Perform tool changes and insert adjustments
• Run parts and monitor production quality
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Machine aluminum and steel components
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications

• 3+ years of machining experience
• Strong experience with manual lathes (required)
• Ability to perform machine setups independently
• Blueprint reading and tolerance verification skills
• Experience with Mastercam 
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Comfortable working in a small team environment

Not a Fit If:

• You are strictly a CNC operator (no setup experience)
• You require step-by-step supervision to run jobs
