CNC Machinist Programmer

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Programmer & Setup Technician for a growing manufacturing company. Responsibilities

CNC Programming & Setup

• Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining centers.
• Create and edit CNC programs using G-code and CAD/CAM software.
• Select tooling, establish machine offsets, and prepare machines for production runs.
• Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary program adjustments.

Machining Operations

• Manufacture precision components according to blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality, accuracy, and productivity.
• Perform tool changes and optimize machine performance.
• Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machine-related issues.

Quality Control

• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Verify compliance with engineering specifications and customer requirements.
• Complete all required production and quality documentation.

Maintenance & Safety

• Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Follow company safety policies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of CNC programming, setup, and machining experience preferred.
• Proficiency with CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Experience with G-code programming and CAD/CAM software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, or similar software.
• Knowledge of multi-axis machining.
• Experience working in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Vocational training, technical certification, or apprenticeship in machining.
