Requirements:

  • 5+ years of CNC experience, specific to mill and lathe machining
  • Proven experience setting up CNC machines
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and documentation
  • Solid mathematical aptitude, including geometry and trigonometry
  • High School Diploma or GED

Your Day, Start to Finish:

  • Set up CNC mills and lathes and perform adjustments to ensure optimal production performance.
  • Prepare tools, fixtures, and materials required for each job prior to machining.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to execute precise machining operations.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material and job requirements.
  • Establish work offsets, zero points, and tool lengths for accurate machining processes.
  • Verify machine programs through test runs and adjust as necessary to meet specifications.
  • Monitor machining operations, making real-time adjustments to maintain part quality and efficiency.
  • Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and probes.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and collaborate with programmers or supervisors to resolve issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company safety policies and ISO standards.
  • Communicate job progress, delays, and technical concerns with supervisors and team members.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts aimed at reducing cycle time and improving quality.
