Position: CNC Machinist Location: West Henrietta, NY
Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking experienced Machinists to join a precision manufacturing team in West Henrietta, NY. This opportunity is available on both A Shift and B Shift and is ideal for candidates with CNC machining experience who enjoy working in a high-precision manufacturing environment. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC mills, CNC lathes, and manual machining equipment while producing prototype and production components that meet exact customer specifications. This role also supports tooling, equipment maintenance, and continuous process improvement.
Pay Rate:
$23.00 - $28.00/Hour (+ 10% Shift Differential For B-Shift)
Shift(s):
A Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
B Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Job Duties:
Set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and manual machining equipment
Manufacture precision prototype and production components to blueprint specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
Perform machine setups, tooling selection, and determine cutting speeds, feed rates, and machining sequences
Write and edit CNC programs using programming software
Produce and modify fixtures and tooling required for production
Inspect finished components to verify dimensions and tolerance requirements
Consult with Engineering and Manufacturing leadership regarding machining requirements and production priorities
Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting
Recommend process improvements to increase quality and efficiency
Assist in training other machinists as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Minimum 3 years of CNC Machinist experience
Minimum 2 years of CNC programming experience
Technical machining experience with prototype work using mills and lathes
Technical machining training preferred
Experience operating manual mills and manual lathes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Strong knowledge of CNC programming software
Strong mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and measurement conversions
Experience using precision measuring equipment
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritize work and operate independently
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as business needs require
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment utilizing CNC mills, lathes, grinders, saws, drill presses, precision measuring equipment, and other machining tools
Frequent standing throughout the shift while operating machinery
Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and handling tooling and materials
Heavy work requiring lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance
Exposure to machinery, sharp tools, and minimal fumes from alcohol and acetone
Required use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves
Must safely operate machinery and maintain a clean work area
Must meet ITAR requirements for employment as applicable
