CNC Machinist Toolroom

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our toolroom team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes while maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC lathe operations, programming with GibbsCAM software, blueprint reading, and precision measuring equipment.ResponsibilitiesProgram new and existing jobs using GibbsCAM softwareSet up and operate CNC lathesRead and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and engineering specificationsVerify dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and comparatorsObserve first-run parts to verify programming and setup accuracyTroubleshoot and correct tooling, programming, or equipment issuesModify CNC programs based on production requirementsCommunicate with engineering and toolroom teams regarding drawing or process updatesMaintain setup documentation and repeat-job dataIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and improve run timesMaintain quality and safety standards throughout the machining processQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredAt least 1–3 years of CNC lathe experience requiredHands-on GibbsCAM programming experience requiredExperience setting up and operating CNC equipmentStrong blueprint-reading and precision-measuring skillsAbility to hold tight tolerances and consistently produce high-quality partsHard-cutting or hard-turning experience is a plusPlex experience is a plusStrong attention to detail and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shiftAbility to occasionally lift up to 40 poundsMust wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and approved work bootsWhat We OfferStable, full-time employmentClean, quality-focused machining environmentOpportunities to work on precision-machining projectsTeam-oriented workplace focused on continuous improvement
