Westaff is Hiring CNC Machinists in Torrington, CT

 

Location: Torrington, CT

Schedule: 1st shift 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

Pay: Based on Experience

Under the direction of a Supervisor or Team Lead, the Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating manual and CNC machining equipment to manufacture and repair precision components. This role requires hands-on machining experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work within strict tolerances to produce high-quality parts.

About the company: focus heavily on roll service, repair, and large component machining, so candidates should be comfortable working with large industrial parts and heavy equipment.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders
• Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect parts
• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure quality standards
• Adjust machine settings (speeds, feeds, tooling) as needed

CNC Machinist Requirements:

• 3+ years of machinist experience
• Experience with lathes and milling machines
• Strong knowledge of precision measuring tools
• Ability to read blueprints and work to tight tolerances
• Mechanically inclined and detail-oriented
