Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical training or certification in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, technical drawings, and engineering specifications.

Experience Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating and programming CNC Swiss-type lathes.
  • Strong knowledge of G-code programming, machine-side editing, and CAM software (Mastercam preferred).
  • Experience machining high-volume, tight-tolerance components, preferably within the aerospace or precision manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and related inspection tools.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate machinery, tooling, and inspection equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Strong visual attention to detail for inspecting precision-machined parts and maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while following safety procedures.

Job Duties

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes for production and prototype runs.
  • Create and modify programs using G-code and CAM software to optimize machining performance.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Select tooling, establish offsets, and adjust machine parameters for maximum efficiency and quality.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, debug programs, and implement process improvements to reduce scrap and improve cycle times.
  • Work closely with engineering and quality teams to maintain tight tolerances, improve production processes, and perform routine machine maintenance.

What You Will Do

As a CNC Machinist you will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications. You will verify machine setups, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain tooling, and support quality and production goals while following established safety and manufacturing procedures.

The CNC Machinist plays an important role in modern manufacturing by operating CNC equipment that produces precision parts for a wide range of industries. This position requires strong technical knowledge, mechanical skill, and attention to detail.
