    Description

    Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented VTL Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating large-scale vertical turning lathes to produce precision metal components in a fast-paced environment. This role is vital to ensuring parts meet specifications for quality, size, and function.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Set up and operate Vertical Turning Lathe machines to perform turning, facing, and boring operations
    • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
    • Select appropriate tools, set proper speeds and feeds, and ensure correct machine alignment
    • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
    • Perform minor programming edits or offsets to improve part quality
    • Maintain accurate production and inspection records
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
    • Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of VTL or related CNC machining experience preferred
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T symbols
    • Strong understanding of machine shop math and precision measurement
    • Familiarity with large-part handling and overhead cranes a plus
    • Dependable work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
    • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training is a plus

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
    • Manual dexterity to operate tools and machine controls
