CNC Machinist
Location: Washington, NC
Shift: Monday-Thursday 7AM-5PM , Friday 7AM-12PM
Our client is looking for a CNC Machinist to support industrial and national defense manufacturing. Responsibilities include:
- Machine a variety of metals (Titanium, Hastelloy, Stainless Steel, Aluminum) using CNC and manual machines, including vertical/horizontal mills and lathes
- Verify finished workpieces conform to specifications using precision measuring instruments
Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to guide machining operations
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories on mills and lathes
- Calculate and set machine controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut
- Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and programmers to resolve machining or assembly issues
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a machinist role for a manufacturing company
- Experience with lathes, mills, turret lathes, or similar machinery
Preferences:
- Experience working with aluminum, carbon steel, titanium, or similar materials
