Title: CNC Machinist
Location: Wood Dale, IL
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Shift : 2nd shift  (430 pm - 1 am)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes to produce parts and components per specifications.

Job Duties: 

 

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes (preferably HAAS) to machine parts to required specifications.
  • Make minor program edits using G and M codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, including geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Select, load, and use proper machining tools such as drills, taps, and boring heads.
  • Perform diversified, close-tolerance lathe operations.
  • Verify part conformance using measuring devices and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform basic machining math and trigonometry calculations.
  • Conduct machine maintenance and keep tools in working order.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment while complying with all quality and safety standards.
  • Work independently and as part of a team with a positive, continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications: 

 

  • 1–35 years of CNC lathe experience preferred.
  • Experience with G and M code programming.
  • Experience with HAAS lathes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with short production runs and frequent setup/changeovers.
