We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator for a unique opportunity on our manufacturing team in Appleton, WI. Our shop is not your typical machine shop. As a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator you will be an integral part of a successful team and will be responsible for operating the vertical turning centers that produce specialized products and components for the aerospace industry.

In this role you will be able to work with new state-of-the-art equipment in a safe, clean air and climate-controlled environment. This is a weekend day shift Friday-Sunday 5am-5pm. Scheduled for 36 hours get paid for 40. Training may take place during the week. We will train a motivated, mechanically inclined candidate.

A successful CNC Machinist/Machine Operator is a problem solver, safety-focused, and understands the importance of precision and quality. To be successful, youll have to learn ATI, our products, customers, and procedures and work collaboratively with other CNC Machinists and cross-functional teams to ensure product is manufactured to quality and customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Receives work instructions, operation sheets, setup sheets, 1st piece, and in-process check sheets from department supervision indicating the operations to be performed.
• Reads and interprets dimension drawings, sketches, tool setup sheets, and manufacturing instructions for performing required machining operation and setups.
• Uses operational drawings to determine required dimensions, travels, and tolerance to be maintained.
• Oversees and controls the operation of machining centers in the machining of forgings made from various types of super alloys with full support of the engineering and programming departments.
• Uses precision or standard measuring devices that are completely furnished by the company such as scales, inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier scales, fixed frame gauges, or special gauges and profilometers to check machined dimensions and surface finishes conforming to customer prints and/or specifications.
• Loads and unloads pieces using an overhead hoist.
• Exercises care in handling material before and after the machining operation.
