Pay: $29.00–$40.00 per hour + potential discretionary bonus
1st Shift hours are 6:00am-2:30pm with OT
Position Summary
Our client, a global leader in the rail tank car valves and fittings industry, is seeking an experienced CNC Maintenance Mechanic to join their manufacturing team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, dismantling, and moving CNC machinery and other industrial equipment.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working with CNC machining equipment, and a working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, motors, drives, wiring, and schematics. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys diagnosing equipment problems and keeping production machinery operating safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machinery and facility equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance including lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, adjustments, alignment, calibration, and other scheduled maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) records and follow manufacturer maintenance schedules and guidelines.
- Diagnose mechanical equipment failures, isolate problems, disassemble equipment, and repair or replace components such as bearings, gears, and structural parts.
- Troubleshoot machinery by observing equipment in operation, communicating with machine operators, and identifying unusual sounds or operating conditions.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to return production equipment to safe operating condition.
- Work with precision measuring and testing instruments, gauges, hand tools, and power tools.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify the source of equipment failures.
- Review maintenance and repair requests, determine the nature of the problem, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Order and install replacement parts as needed.
- Perform limited machining operations when necessary to complete maintenance and repair work.
- Assist with the installation, leveling, alignment, dismantling, relocation, and movement of industrial machinery.
- Safely move equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Assist with moving equipment, furniture, and other items as needed.
- Participate in safety, problem-solving, and team meetings.
- Follow quality policies and procedures in all maintenance activities.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all applicable safety procedures.
