Job Title: CNC Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift)

Shift: 3rd Shift | Monday–Friday | 8-Hour Shifts- OT as needed weekends

Pay Range: $35.00 – $39.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Express Employment Professionals is direct hiring a CNC Maintenance Technician for a highly automated manufacturing facility in Howell, MI. This role supports advanced machining operations producing critical components for automotive and powertrain applications.

About the Facility: This operation features state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, including:

• CNC vertical & horizontal machining centers
• Robotic automation cells (24-hour production capability)
• CNC turning, milling, and boring systems
• Automated assembly, leak testing, and vision systems
• Integrated high-pressure die casting and heat treating processes

Position Summary: As a key member of the maintenance team, the CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, including CNC machines, robotic cells, and plant systems.

This role requires strong diagnostic ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Electrical & Controls:

• Read and interpret schematics, ladder logic, and electrical drawings
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, and power supplies
• Trace wiring, isolate faults, and replace electrical components
• Wire panels, run conduit, and complete electrical installations

Mechanical & Equipment Maintenance

• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble CNC machines and plant equipment
• Replace ball screws, motors, gearboxes, pumps, spindles, and drives
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance
• Troubleshoot robotic cells, machining centers, and automated systems

Production Support & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with production teams to resolve equipment and quality issues
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and uptime optimization
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

Safety & Compliance

• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
• Adhere to OSHA standards and plant safety protocols
• Work within confined space and hot work permit requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 2–3+ years of CNC maintenance experience in a machining environment
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
• Experience with PLCs, servo systems, and industrial controls
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
• Experience with rigging, spindle repair, and gearbox systems

Preferred

• Associate degree in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical, or PLC Programming
• Overhead crane and aerial lift certifications

Knowledge & Skills

• CNC machining centers, robotic cells, and automation systems
• AC/DC servo systems, VFDs, PLCs, and HMI troubleshooting
• Industrial electrical systems and high-voltage applications
• Precision diagnostics using test equipment
• Strong problem-solving and independent work capability

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision
• Exposure to noise, dust, temperature changes, and industrial conditions
• Physical requirements include:
• Standing, climbing, crouching
• Lifting up to 50+ lbs
• Repetitive movement and fine motor coordination
