Job Type: Full-time, Day Shift
Pay Range: $25.00 $30.00 per hour (Commensurate with experience)
We are looking for qualified candidates to join a reputable company for CNC and manual lathe machine operator positions to fill two distinct, full-time roles within our clean, modern, and fully climate-controlled facility:
CNC Lathe Machinist / Operator
Manual Lathe Machinist / Operator
Whether your expertise lies in programming automated turning centers or masterfully handling conventional, manual lathe machinery, we have an opening for you. Both roles focus on producing high-tolerance custom components, custom shafts, and low-volume prototypes.
CNC Lathe Machinist / Operator
This role focuses heavily on automated turning operations to manufacture high-tolerance components.
Key Responsibilities: Perform complete setups and turning operations on CNC lathes, including 3-axis turning centers and bar-feed mechanics.
Controls: Execute tool offsets, change worn inserts, set touch-offs, and make basic edits to CNC control programs (such as Mazatrol or G-code).
Requirements: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience specifically dedicated to CNC lathe setup and operation.
Manual Lathe Machinist / Operator
This role is dedicated to conventional, hands-on turning operations for custom, low-volume job-shop production.
Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate conventional manual lathe equipment safely and efficiently.
Chucking & Alignment: Expertly install and align three-jaw chucks, four-jaw chucks, collets, bushings, and tailstocks based on raw stock dimensions.
Requirements: 3 to 5 years of proven experience operating manual/conventional lathe equipment.
Shared Duties & Core Qualifications (Both Roles)
Precision Turning: Maintain exact print dimensions during rotational cuts, including heavy turning, facing, precision ID/OD boring, threading, and groove styling.
Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Quality Auditing: Meticulously inspect close-tolerance seal surfaces using micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and bore indicators.
Material Adaptation: Optimize speeds and feeds for a variety of raw stock metals (stainless steel, aluminum, alloy steels, titanium) and polymer plastics.
Tooling: Ownership of personal machinist hand tools and basic precision inspection equipment is required.
