CNC/Manual Machinist Location: Houston, TX Duration: 12+ Month Contract Pay: $25 per hour, W2 Work Mode: Onsite
Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm
Responsibilities:
Support safety culture and drive a safe to start mindset.
Align large rotors, gas components, and parts within tight tolerances for machining, grinding, and runout corrections.
Program CNC lathes, VTL’s, and milling machines.
Read and interpret documents such as OEM drawings, REI’s, Work Instructions, and Digital Routers.
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, and grinders.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrate advanced/expert skill level in CNC mill, CNC lathe, NC, Manual mill, Manual lathe, and Manual VTL operations.
Ability to operate Manual machines as well as CNC machines.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Gas turbine repair (HSPT, GE10's, Fr3, Fr5, Fr6, and F7) Rotors and component machining is a big plus.
Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T).
Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
