Your morning kicks off by tooling up an ACER mill, dialing in offsets, and running first-article parts. By midday, you might switch to a manual lathe to turn a critical feature, verify every dimension with calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators, then finish on the grinder. When a new job comes in, you review the blueprint, interpret GD&T, and choose the best setup across mills, lathes, saws, a boring mill, or a drill press to hit spec the first time.
What you'll do
Set up, adjust, and operate both manual and CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, saws, boring mills, and drill presses)
Inspect work throughout the process using precision measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
Run manual mills, lathes, and grinders with confidence and consistency
Read and work directly from engineering blueprints, applying GD&T
What you bring
Proven hands-on experience on manual mills, lathes, and grinders
Fluency in blueprint interpretation and GD&T
Comfort using 2D drawings and precision metrology tools (calipers and micrometers)
