Pay:$20.00 per hour Location:Pryor, OK Shift:MondayFriday | 6:00 AM2:30 PM Job Order #:140904 Position Overview Stand-By Personnel is hiring a CNC Mill/Lathe Machinist for a manufacturing operation in Pryor, OK. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC mills and lathes to produce precision-machined parts while maintaining established quality, safety, and production standards.
The CNC Mill/Lathe Machinist will work from engineering drawings, setup sheets, and CNC programs to complete machining operations accurately and efficiently. This position also receives ongoing training and mentoring from experienced Level 3 and Level 4 Machinists. Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce machined parts according to specifications.
Select and install appropriate jaws, tooling, attachments, collets, bushings, chucks, and other machine components.
Set workpieces, touch off tools, inspect and replace inserts, load correct programs, and adjust tool offsets.
Review setup sheets to determine machining procedures, sequences, dimensions, and required programs.
Set up three-jaw and four-jaw chucks, indicate vises, tram heads, and make other machine adjustments as required.
Load raw material and remove finished workpieces manually or with hoists and cranes as needed.
Enter machine instructions and adjust feeds, speeds, coolant flow, depth of cut, and other machining parameters.
Monitor machine operation and immediately report errors or equipment concerns to the Machine Shop Supervisor.
Inspect first-run parts and production samples to verify machine settings and dimensional accuracy.
Perform machining operations including drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing.
Take measurements, identify machine or process problems, and assist with troubleshooting.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing drawings, and machining specifications.
Enter and retrieve CNC programs, part patterns, and other machine-control data.
Replace dull or damaged cutting tools as needed.
Record completed jobs and production quantities using Job Tracker.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety regulations and quality-control procedures.
Ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings.
Ability to use precision measuring tools and verify finished-part dimensions.
Understanding of machining speeds, feeds, offsets, coolant flow, and cutting depths.
Ability to recognize machining problems and communicate issues promptly.
Basic computer skills and ability to enter or retrieve machine-control information.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to safely handle materials manually or with hoists and cranes.
Ability to work independently while following established production procedures.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
