Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced CNC Mill / Lathe Machinist to join a manufacturing facility in Downtown Tulsa. This position is responsible for independently setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, loading programs, making offsets and adjustments, and producing precision-machined parts according to engineering specifications.
The ideal candidate has strong CNC setup experience, is proficient with precision measuring equipment, and can troubleshoot machining issues with minimal supervision.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
Ability to independently perform machine setups for production runs
Experience loading CNC programs and making machine offsets and adjustments
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and engineering specifications
Proficiency with precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Strong understanding of machining processes and quality standards
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC milling and lathe machines for production runs
Load machine programs and perform required offsets and adjustments
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering specifications
Perform test cuts and verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments
Monitor machining operations to maintain quality and production efficiency
Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections
Inspect finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications
Perform routine machine maintenance and equipment upkeep
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating both CNC mills and CNC lathes
Previous experience in a precision manufacturing or machine shop environment
Strong knowledge of tooling, machine offsets, and CNC setup procedures
Experience performing in-process quality inspections
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate CNC machinery while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around machining equipment, cutting tools, and industrial machinery
Work Environment
