Job Title: CNC Mill Operator 1st Shift
Location: Cromwell, CT 06416
Pay rate: $22.00 - $25.00/hr (based on experience)
Work schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Attendance Requirement: Prompt and reliable work attendance is critical.
The CNC Mill Operator is responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) milling machinery to safely produce high-quality parts in accordance with exact technical specifications. This position requires a solid manufacturing background, high mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to quality control. The operator must work efficiently from engineering blueprints and production documents while maintaining a safe, structured work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Setup and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture production parts precisely according to engineering drawings and work orders.
Blueprint & Document Analysis: Read, interpret, and follow industrial blueprints, process work orders, and detailed production documents.
Performance Monitoring: Perform routine mechanical machine adjustments and actively monitor machinery performance to prevent operational errors.
Quality Control Inspection: Inspect finished production parts using precise measuring instruments to verify that all dimensional quality standards are fully met.
Workplace Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Strictly follow all established corporate production procedures and safety protocols.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
CNC Operation: Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on CNC equipment operation experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude combined with practical troubleshooting skills to address minor machine variations.
Quality Inspection Tools: Demonstrated ability to read measuring instruments and technical blueprints to execute basic quality control checks.
Professional Attributes: Strong attention to detail, a strict commitment to product quality, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative production team.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Direct experience focusing specifically on the operation of CNC milling machinery.
Education & Experience
Experience: 2–3 years of relevant CNC experience in manufacturing is required.
