CNC Mill Operator
Location: Fenton, MO 63026
Pay Rate: $26 –$27/hr, paid weekly
Schedule: 2nd Shift | Monday–Thursday | 2:15 PM–12:45 AM (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Training Requirement: Candidates must be available to train on 1st Shift (Monday–Friday) before transitioning to 2nd Shift.
Overview
The CNC Mill Operator is responsible for setting up, programming (as applicable), and operating CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture precision parts that meet engineering specifications. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints, perform machine setups, inspect finished parts, and maintain quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and engineering drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, tooling requirements, and machining sequences.
- Install and secure tooling, fixtures, chucks, and workpieces.
- Adjust machine controls, feeds, speeds, and cutting depths to ensure accurate production.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers.
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Perform light assembly, fitting, trimming, and finishing using hand and power tools.
- Complete quality inspections and report defective materials or production issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production teams to resolve machining or assembly issues.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for most of the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to rotate between work cells as needed.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
Preferred
- At least 1 year of CNC machining experience.
- Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes in a manufacturing environment.
