WHAT YOULL DO
Set up and operate 5-axis CNC mills to machine flat, contoured, and formed parts to inch and metric specifications
Serve as the technical resource for tooling and machining capabilities; evaluate and justify new tooling and processes
Communicate issues related to work orders, programming errors, and material shortages
Take lead on large projects from start to finish; interact with engineers on part design and advise on corrective actions
Mentor and train Machinist I, II, and III
Perform R&D work as directed; document red lines
Maintain cleanliness of work area and accurately record labor time for job tracking
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; AA degree in Machine Technology preferred, or 2 to 3 years of equivalent machining experience
Minimum of 2 years of 5-axis CNC setup and operation experience
Ability to machine various plastics (WPP, NPP, FRPP, Polycarbonate, PVC, Acrylic, UHMW, Delrin, PTFE, PFA, PVDF) and metals
Ability to machine to .005 tolerance and use precision measuring devices in thousandths
Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings in metric, decimal, and fractional inch units; ability to read Bills of Materials and machine codes
Ability to CNC program; cross-trained in a minimum of 1 additional machining discipline
Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position works in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to stand for extended periods, use precision hand tools, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds on a regular basis. The work environment may include exposure to machine noise, coolant, and metal or plastic particulate. PPE is required in designated areas.
