CNC Mill Operator II/III

LOCATION: Greater Portland Area (Tigard, OR)

SALARY: $27.00 - $34.00hr DOE

SCHEDULE: Full-Time | Temporary-to-Hire

2nd Shift: Monday through Thursday, 2:15 PM to 12:45 AM
3rd Shift: Friday through Sunday, 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up and operate 5-axis CNC mills to machine flat, contoured, and formed parts to inch and metric specifications
  • Serve as the technical resource for tooling and machining capabilities; evaluate and justify new tooling and processes
  • Communicate issues related to work orders, programming errors, and material shortages
  • Take lead on large projects from start to finish; interact with engineers on part design and advise on corrective actions
  • Mentor and train Machinist I, II, and III
  • Perform R&D work as directed; document red lines
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and accurately record labor time for job tracking

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; AA degree in Machine Technology preferred, or 2 to 3 years of equivalent machining experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of 5-axis CNC setup and operation experience
  • Ability to machine various plastics (WPP, NPP, FRPP, Polycarbonate, PVC, Acrylic, UHMW, Delrin, PTFE, PFA, PVDF) and metals
  • Ability to machine to .005 tolerance and use precision measuring devices in thousandths
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings in metric, decimal, and fractional inch units; ability to read Bills of Materials and machine codes
  • Ability to CNC program; cross-trained in a minimum of 1 additional machining discipline
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position works in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to stand for extended periods, use precision hand tools, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds on a regular basis. The work environment may include exposure to machine noise, coolant, and metal or plastic particulate. PPE is required in designated areas.
