Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Operator / Machinist to join a precision manufacturing team in West Tulsa. This position is responsible for operating and setting up CNC 3-axis vertical milling machines, producing high-quality machined components, and ensuring all parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience with Fanuc-controlled CNC mills, understands GD&T principles, and takes pride in producing precision-machined parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years of CNC mill operating experience
Experience operating 3-axis vertical CNC milling machines
Proficiency with Fanuc controls
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Ability to accurately set tool heights and work offsets
Experience using edge finders, tape measures, and precision measuring equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and machining specifications
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to lift 40 lbs or more as needed
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate CNC 3-axis vertical milling machines to produce precision-machined components
Set tool heights, work offsets, and machine parameters for efficient production
Utilize Fanuc controls to execute machining programs accurately
Use edge finders, measuring tools, and inspection equipment to ensure proper setup and dimensional accuracy
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T callouts
Perform in-process and final quality inspections to verify parts meet specifications
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during production
Maintain production records and communicate quality or equipment concerns to supervisors
Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and safe
Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards
Preferred Qualifications
Experience setting up CNC milling machines for production runs
Knowledge of tooling selection and machining practices
Experience working in a high-volume precision manufacturing environment
Familiarity with preventive maintenance and machine troubleshooting
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 40 lbs or more regularly
Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate CNC machinery while wearing required PPE
Comfortable working around industrial equipment and machining operations
Work Environment
Precision CNC machine shop and manufacturing facility
Fast-paced production environment focused on accuracy, quality, and efficiency
Exposure to CNC machinery, cutting tools, metal materials, coolant, and industrial equipment
