Our Glendale, CA production shop powers micro abrasive sandblasting equipment and services. We’re seeking a CNC Mill Setup & Programming Technologist who thrives on transforming drawings into reliable, efficient machining processes—then validating quality at the machine.

From first-piece to final inspection, your decisions on tool selection, workholding, speeds/feeds, and code quality directly influence cycle time, tool life, and dimensional results. You’ll be the bridge between engineering intent and production reality.
Position details
Employment: Full-time, temp-to-hire
Location: Glendale, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Starting rate: $30/hour
Key outcomes
Robust CNC programs created and refined in G-code and CAM for both production runs and one-offs.
Repeatable setups with correct work coordinates, tool offsets, and machine parameters.
Parts meeting print and GD&T through disciplined first-article and in-process inspection.
Reduced cycle times and extended tool life via continuous optimization.
Accurate production/inspection records and well-maintained machines/workcells.
Stronger manufacturability through close collaboration with engineering and production.
What you’ll handle
Program, set up, and operate CNC milling centers.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
Develop/modify programs with G-code and CAM tools.
Select tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds suited to materials and features.
Set tool/work offsets and configure machine parameters.
Execute first-piece verification and in-process checks using precision metrology.
Make program/offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality.
Diagnose machining, tooling, programming, and setup issues.
Drive process improvements for efficiency and consistency.
Document results; perform routine maintenance; uphold safety and quality standards.
Capabilities we value
Experience as a CNC Mill Machinist and/or CNC Programmer.
In-depth knowledge of CNC milling operations and machining principles.
Comfort with drawings and GD&T.
G-code proficiency and CNC program editing.
CAM programming strongly preferred.
Independent setup/operation of CNC mills.
Expertise in cutting tools, workholding, speeds/feeds, and machining practices.
Skilled with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting instincts.
Detail-driven; committed to high-quality workmanship.
Works well independently and within a production team.
Bonus points
Experience machining small/precision components and holding tight tolerances.
Background with multiple metals and engineering materials.
Multi-axis CNC milling exposure.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
Time in a production manufacturing environment.
