CNC Milling Programmer-Operator

Step into a day on the floor

Morning or night, you thrive where metal meets precision. For two weeks, you are on days, Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm. Then you flip to nights for two weeks, Monday through Thursday, 3pm to 1am. In this evaluation-to-hire role with Express Employment Professionals, you bring drawings to life for a local client in East Baton Rouge.

What you will do

• Read and interpret prints and 3D models, then program, set up, and run CNC mills
• Operate CNC equipment to consistently meet tight quality standards
• Demonstrate secure workholding and efficient set-up best practices
• Apply strong G-code and M-code knowledge to optimize performance
• Validate programs and set-ups to maintain quality throughout production
• Measure, document, and record all required in-process and final inspections

What you bring

• Availability to work all shifts, with overtime and weekends as needed
• Ability to lift 25 lbs
• Hands-on CNC milling experience
• Keen attention to detail and a quality-first mindset

Your toolkit

• Equipment troubleshooting and general troubleshooting skills
• CNC tooling knowledge and CNC programming proficiency
• G-code and M-code expertise
• Efficient machine set-ups for production runs

Machines and technologies you will run

• CNC mill (3–4 axis VMC)
• CNC lathe (2–4 axis)
• CAM software

Compensation and schedule

• Pay: 20–35 per hour
• Rotating schedule: 2 weeks days (Mon–Fri 7am–4pm), then 2 weeks nights (Mon–Thu 3pm–1am, 10-hour shifts)

• Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule up to 25 per hour based on experience
