The outlook for the company is strong as it continues to set higher goals for sustained success together.Position SummaryThe Shaping Machinist will independently and safely set up and operate CNC and manual shapers.Essential FunctionsRead and understand process travelers, setup journals, operation sheets and CMM inspection reports to produce complex finished product.Setup, tooling adjustments and program offsets as necessary.Ability to accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments including gages, indicators and micrometers.Perform daily TPM responsibilities.Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required.Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes.Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co-workers, team members and supervisors.CompetenciesTechnical capacityProblem-solving / analysisInitiativeResults-drivenExperience and EducationMinimum of 1 year of aerospace CNC machining experience is required.High school diploma or equivalent required.Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but extensive experience may substitute for education.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
