Description
As a CNC Machinist you will produce very complex machined parts by setting up and operating a CNC Mill or Lathe Machines.
What you'll do
- Read blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut.
- Select, positions, and secure work piece (chuck, collet, or vise). Change tools, adjust offsets and tool comps to maintain required part quality.
- Inspect products during the machining operation to determine if parts meet print specifications.
- Observe operation of machine and verify conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
- Maintain equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements. Reporting need for machine repairs.
- Understand and comply with company policy safety guidelines, quality systems requirements and housekeeping standards.
What you need to thrive in this role
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience operating CNC Mills or Lathes (experience preferred in setting up and programming/editing programs)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints including GD&T tolerancing with profile tolerancing preferred.
- Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
- Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to anticipate, think ahead and plan.
- Ability to work in a team, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills.
