This self-starting role is primarily responsible for monitoring and adjusting CNC machining operations to maintain strict quality control standards using inspection results from CMM / Metallurgical lab and direct manual measurements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitor CNC machine operations under direction of CNC Machinist staffAssist in the setup and changeover of CNC machines for new productsMonitor tool condition visually and by automated CNC machine cycle countChange tools when they are worn / broken visually or as prompted automatically by the CNC machineWhen tools are broken, remove from the parts and re-insert into processFacilitate CMM and Metallurgical Lab inspections as required by the Control PlanComplete manual inspections as required by the Control Plan with micrometers, calipers, gages, etc.Make basic CNC program adjustments based on inspection results to ensure consistent part qualityMonitor and refill CNC machine fluids dailyClear chips from the machine dailyLoad and unload raw materials and finished components from CNC machines as necessaryVisually inspect parts to ensure consistent part quality, deburring parts when necessaryMaintain a clean and orderly work areaTag and quarantine non-conforming material when it is found, backtracking as necessary to contain issuesRead and understand blueprints, work instructions, and basic GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED2+ years experience in a machining environment Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and basic technical documentsAbility to use precision measuring tools and gages Strong attention to detail and manual dexterityReliable and self-starting with a strong ethical and moral basisPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:2yr certificate in machining or metalworking programExperience with machining operations such as milling, turning, drilling, tapping, grinding, etc.Formal or practical (on-the-job) training in basic GD&T conceptsExperience in automotive or powertrain manufacturing environmentsExperience with Siemens 840D interfacePHYSICAL / TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to stand, walk, and wear PPE for extended periods during scheduled shiftsAbility to bend, stoop, reach, grip, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basisBENEFIT HIGHLIGHTS: 85% company-paid healthcare insurance with PPO and HDHP + HSA options401k with up to 5% company match2 weeks PTO + 3 days Medical LeaveFEUER powertrain North America, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
