Position Summary
Under the direction of the area supervisor, the CNC Operator is responsible for preparing and modifying production schedules for machined parts. This role works closely with manufacturing, production, and engineering teams to efficiently operate CNC equipment and produce high-quality components.
Primary Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Plan machining activities to support production schedules and engineering requirements.
- Monitor material inventory and coordinate replenishment with the appropriate departments.
- Safely load and unload materials into CNC machinery.
- Program and operate CNC mills and lathes.
- Set gauges and measuring instruments to maintain required tolerances.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines, tooling, and equipment.
- Monitor machining processes to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Identify and isolate nonconforming products.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend tooling or fixture improvements.
- Ensure equipment is properly lubricated prior to operation.
- Maintain drills and cutting tools to meet blueprint tolerances.
- Complete required production documentation and reports.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work evenings or weekends as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2â3 years of related CNC machining experience preferred.
- Entry-level candidates with relevant internship experience or demonstrated technical proficiency may be considered.
