CNC Operator Level 3 - 3rd Shift

Description
The following is a list of general responsibilities and skills necessary to perform the duties of the CNC Level 3 classification labor grade 9.
Key Responsibilities
• Ability to perform CNC Level 1 & 2 requirements • Operate all CNC Equipment (mills, lathes) • Set-up and operate equipment per MO requirements using the following blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces • Changes tool inserts as required to maintain part specifications and monitor tool usage and wear • Must have a good working knowledge of M & G Codes • Ability to be trained to enter work orders into the Maintenance system • Configures CNC by entering instructions including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, and prove part programs • Loads machine with work pieces and verifies settings by measuring positions first-run part and sample work pieces • Maintains specifications by observing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, editing programs, sharpening, and replacing worn tools • Adheres to quality assurance procedures and processes • Accomplishes organization goals by offering improvement opportunities • Meets production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality • Works with higher level CNC associates to troubleshoot set-up and machine new products • Works with lower CNC levels to guide and coach them on higher skilled tasks • Works with supervision and leads to assure the equipment is safe, tooling is on-hand, and assisting in keeping the equipment in operation to meet schedule requirements • Performs basic service checks per documented procedures • Check and add coolant and oils as required
