Our client located in West Milwaukee is looking for A CNC Operator to join their team.

CNC Machinist

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Job Summary

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision parts from a variety of metals. This role supports production of complex castings and forgings while maintaining strict quality, safety, and documentation standards in an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including horizontal and vertical machining centers and CNC turning equipment
  • Perform machining operations such as drilling, boring, milling, and turning to required tolerances
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications
  • Make tool changes, offsets, and basic program adjustments as needed to ensure part quality
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality documentation
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime
  • Train or assist other operators when required
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality system requirements
  • Maintain a cooperative, team-oriented, and customer-focused work approach
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience setting up and operating CNC machines
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes
  • Proficiency using hand tools and precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to apply basic math concepts
  • Forklift experience a plus, but not required
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing / machine shop environment
  • Work involves standing for extended periods, handling tooling and materials, and operating CNC machinery in a production setting
