Amsted Automotive, Cold Form & Finishing, business unit is seeking an experienced 2nd shift (6pm-4am) CNC Operator to meet production requirements which include making small orders of unique items, substantial amounts of an individual part, work components of metal and an ability with machine tools to good use to fill the operations necessary to make machined products to satisfy certain specifications.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Primary Function Summary
Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications.
Load materials and tooling, make offsets, and adjust machine settings.
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining issues.
Maintain production and quality records.
Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.
Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
High School Diploma or GED with experience or vocational/technical certification required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges.
Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes, mills, or machining centers.
Basic understanding of GD & T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
Ability to identify quality issues and perform in-process inspections.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, and use hand tools.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, oil, and metal chips.
Must be able to work necessary overtime if required.
