Standby Personnel is seeking dependable and motivated candidates for a Material Processing Associate position. This role is responsible for operating material processing equipment, supporting production activities, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.
Position Summary
The Material Processing Associate will work under the direction of the department lead and supervisor to operate equipment, prepare materials, support production processes, and assist with general shop operations. Successful candidates will be team-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to learn multiple aspects of the manufacturing process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate material processing equipment, including shears, brakes, saws, drills, and other production machinery.
Assist in preparing materials, parts, and tools for production and maintenance activities.
Perform grinding, cleaning, and finishing tasks as required.
Support assembly and installation activities as directed by department leadership.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Assist team members with production tasks to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
Follow all company safety procedures and properly use equipment, tools, and safety devices.
Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure and other measuring devices.
Experience with hand tools and power tools preferred.
Ability to learn and operate manufacturing and material processing equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Skills
Previous manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial experience.
Experience operating plate rolls, CNC plasma equipment, or similar machinery.
Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
