Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable CNC Plasma Table Operator to join a fast-paced steel processing operation in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for operating a CNC plasma table to cut and process steel materials according to job specifications, measurements, and production requirements.
Candidates will pull the correct material for each job, move steel to the plasma table, follow computerized job instructions, and inspect completed materials for dimensional accuracy.
Previous CNC or plasma table experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided before the employee is expected to operate the equipment independently.
Required Experience & Skills
Basic computer skills required
Must be able to accurately read a tape measure
Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy
Ability to read and follow job specifications and processing instructions
Previous manufacturing, machine operation, or industrial experience preferred
Caliper and micrometer experience preferred
Forklift experience preferred
Willingness to learn CNC plasma table operation
Comfortable operating or learning material-handling equipment
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Strong commitment to workplace and equipment safety
Must pass required background check and drug screening
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate a CNC plasma table to process and cut steel materials
Review computerized job information and production requirements
Identify and pull the correct steel material for each assigned job
Prepare materials for plasma cutting operations
Move and position steel onto the plasma table
Follow job specifications throughout the cutting process
Monitor cutting operations and equipment performance
Measure completed materials for dimensional accuracy
Inspect cut products to ensure they meet required specifications
Identify and report incorrect dimensions or quality concerns
Move completed materials to appropriate staging or production areas
Maintain clean, organized, and safe machine and work areas
Follow all company production and equipment safety procedures
Perform additional steel processing and material-handling duties as assigned
CNC Plasma Table Responsibilities
Candidates will receive training on equipment operation before being expected to work independently.

Finished-product inspection
Basic equipment awareness and troubleshooting
Measurement & Quality Responsibilities
Accurate measurement is an important part of this position.
Candidates should be able to use or learn to use:
Tape measures
Calipers
Micrometers
Other basic precision measuring equipment
Responsibilities include verifying material dimensions, checking tolerances, inspecting completed cuts, and ensuring processed steel meets applicable job requirements.
Forklift, Crane & Material Handling
Candidates may operate or be trained to operate:
Sit-down forklifts
Stand-up side loader forklifts
Overhead cranes
Other industrial material-handling equipment
These machines are used to move and position long, heavy steel materials throughout the facility and at the plasma table.
Preferred Qualifications
CNC plasma table experience
CNC machine operation experience
Steel processing or metal fabrication experience
Previous machine operator experience
Sit-down forklift experience
Stand-up side loader forklift experience
Overhead crane experience
Caliper and micrometer experience
Steel warehouse or metal distribution experience
Experience reading production specifications and dimensional requirements
Training Opportunity
Candidates do not need previous CNC plasma table experience to be considered.
The company will provide training before independent equipment operation. This makes the position a strong opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, warehouse, steel, or machine-operation backgrounds who want to develop more specialized CNC equipment skills.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely handle and work around long and heavy steel materials
Ability to safely enter and exit material-handling equipment
Manual dexterity required for machine controls and precision measuring equipment
Comfortable working around CNC equipment, forklifts, cranes, and industrial machinery
Ability to safely perform assigned duties while wearing required PPE
Work Environment
Fast-paced steel processing and industrial manufacturing environment
Regular work around CNC plasma equipment, steel materials, forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes
Hands-on position combining machine operation, measurement, quality inspection, and material handling
Detail-oriented environment requiring accurate measurements and adherence to job specifications
