CNC/PLC Maintenance and Reliability Technician

Where you’ll work: Sedalia, MO — Gardner Denver (305 N State Fair Blvd., Sedalia, MO 65301)

When you’ll work: 2nd Shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM

Who are we?

What will I be doing?

  • Keeping the facility safe and productive by maintaining building systems, including alarms and fire protection, and responding to emergency maintenance needs.
  • Diagnosing component‑level issues on Fanuc, Siemens, and Allen‑Bradley controls and drives; repairing CNC machinery and related electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Reading schematics/blueprints to perform major electrical, mechanical, and construction repairs or installations.
  • Finding root causes, recommending preventive measures, and recording clear histories/comments in the work order system.
  • Partnering with internal customers to communicate equipment status and priorities.
  • Coordinating with external service providers and supporting controls/equipment install and repair; applying cross‑trade handyman skills.
  • Drafting sketches for construction/electrical changes; preparing bills of material and initiating purchase requisitions.
  • Making sound day‑to‑day decisions to keep operations on track.
  • Using hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks, and hand trucks to move materials of varying weights.
  • Reassembling equipment after maintenance; inspecting/testing damaged parts; marking defects and advising leaders on next steps.
  • Applying lubricants, adhesives, and other materials according to procedure.
  • Collaborating with teammates to repair or move machines, parts, and assemblies.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing high‑voltage systems up to 480VAC, 3‑phase.
  • Replacing/repairing liners or panels made of metal, wood, leather, glass, and other materials.

What experience do I need?

  • 2+ years in manufacturing maintenance.

What skills help me thrive?

  • Troubleshooting and repair across pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical/electronic systems, and CNC machines/controls.
  • Ability to work from concepts when full prints/drawings/specs aren’t available.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation.
  • Service and upkeep of mechanical machine tools (lathes, grinders, mills, drills, machining centers, etc.).
  • Blueprint and schematic interpretation.
  • Teamwork and clear communication.
  • Stand/walk up to 8 hours; lift 35 lbs. alone or 70 lbs. with help; push/pull up to 35 lbs.; vision 20/35 or better with correction.

Preferred qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years focused on CNC machine maintenance.

Work setting

On‑site in Sedalia, MO; travel is not expected.
