We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist specializing in CNC Mill and/or CNC Lathe programming and machining. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC equipment to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology and contribute to high-quality manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working independently while maintaining production efficiency and quality standards. The hourly rate will be based on experience and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming & Setup
Program, edit and optimize CNC programs for Mill and/or Lathe operations. Knowledge of G&M codes preferred.
Set up machine including material, tooling selection, offsets and fixture alignment.
Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings accurately to produce complex parts.
Select proper cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
Machining & Production
Operate CNC Mill and/or Lathe to manufacture precision components.
Download existing programs into the controls and make necessary adjustments to the programs.
Update header and tooling information so the information is clear and accurate for others to use as well.
Monitor machine operations and adjust as necessary to maintain tolerances.
Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
Maintain production efficiency while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Inspect and document parts as required on inspection sheets, when required.
Quality & Safety
Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.
Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust setups as needed, and ensure adherence to safety protocols throughout the manufacturing process.
Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized area.
Commitment to safety standards and quality assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Compensation
· Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on level of experience
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of CNC machining experience (Mill or Lathe specialization).
Proficiency in G&M-code programming and editing at the machine.
Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with precision measuring tools and quality inspection processes
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Experience machining a variety of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, plastics).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Experience with CAD Cam Software, Mastercam preferred.
Must have a good work ethic, dependable, great communications skills, positive team player, self-motivated, person of high integrity, shows initiative.
Personal measuring equipment to use on the job, not required but preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity and attention to fine detail work.
Be able to work 50 hrs a week, Monday - Friday.
