CNC Press Brake Setup Technician — Tualatin, OR
Picture your day on our production floor in Tualatin: you arrive, review the build plan, and prep an Amada press brake for the first run. Tooling is laid out, the CNC program is verified, and you check bend deductions against the blueprint before forming the first article. With the sequence dialed in, parts flow smoothly. Mid-morning, you switch gears—performing a quick changeover for a new job, then hopping onto the RAS panel bender (CNC) to keep orders moving. When a hydraulic pressure fluctuation pops up, you troubleshoot, adjust, and get the line back within tight tolerances. You end the shift by documenting results, coordinating with teammates on workflow improvements, and leaving a spotless, safe work area.
What you’ll handle
- Set up and run hydraulic press brakes to fabricate sheet metal parts to exact specifications.
- Perform CNC setups and changeovers to meet fast-paced production requirements.
- Read and apply blueprints, templates, and technical drawings for accurate layouts and bends.
- Plan bend sequences using knowledge of metal properties and forming characteristics.
- Operate additional equipment: notchers, rolls, hardware insertion machines, and CNC RAS panel benders.
- Carry out routine hydraulic system maintenance, troubleshooting, and fine adjustments.
- Monitor quality in process and correct variances to maintain tight tolerances.
- Partner with the team to enhance workflow, efficiency, and shop safety.
- Keep the work area organized and compliant; flex to other production areas when needed.
