Turn Blueprints into Scalable, Repeatable Reality

Do you thrive on improving how things are made—safely, efficiently, and at world‑class quality? NN Inc., a manufacturer of high‑performance precision components, is seeking an engineer who can bridge process design with quality systems across our CNC operations.

Imagine This

A new program lands with tight tolerances and ambitious cost targets. You map the process, apply GD&T to critical features, validate cycle times, and draft standard work. You coach operators on SPC, stand up PFMEA controls, and lead the APQP core team using the Project Launch Guide and the Autocam Production System (APS). When the customer requests a change, you quickly re‑estimate costs, update the quote, and keep PPAP on track—without sacrificing capability or throughput.

What You’ll Own

  • Standardization: Build and curate procedures, work instructions, and documentation that lock in quality and control cost.
  • Process/Tooling Design: Engineer and optimize processes and tooling for both current production and new product launches.
  • Launch Leadership: Drive APQP deliverables and PPAP timing via the Project Launch Guide and APS.
  • Capital Support: Provide technical analysis and implementation support for new equipment.
  • Costing: Establish/maintain cost standards; quote new parts and revise existing customer quotes.
  • People Development: Train operators on machine operation, SPC, document interpretation, and continuous improvement.
  • Systems Discipline: Interpret complex drawings, apply GD&T, and ensure compliance with QMS and EMS.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent technical training; 2+ years of experience.
  • Evidence of structured problem solving and a continuous improvement approach.
  • Proficiency with technical documentation, cost estimation, and manufacturing software systems.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to navigate complex technical documents and collaborate at all levels.
  • Hands‑on with APQP, GD&T, and lean manufacturing.

Skills & Methods You’ll Apply

  • GD&T, Process Engineering, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC), PFMEA, APQP, PPAP
  • Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment; Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Machines & Technologies

  • CNC Lathe (2–4 axis): Mazak, Haas
  • CNC Swiss Lathe: Citizen, Tornos
  • CNC Lathe (5+ axis): Mazak, Index, Miyano

Work Setting

  • Approx. 50 hours/week on a flexible schedule.
  • Mix of office and manufacturing floor with exposure to noise and oil.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs; close and distance vision required.

Benefits & Growth

  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Opportunities for growth and advancement
  • Collaborative, innovation‑driven culture
  • Cutting‑edge manufacturing projects
